Introduction

South Punjab is such a part of Pakistan which has 5000 years rich historical background. The region of Bahawalpur having its own historical importance was well developed in every way just in recent past. Now, suffering from deprivation and poverty due to wrong policies, corruption and natural disasters in past decades, majority of people spend their lives below poverty line and are negatively impacted in various spheres of life.

By assessing the situation some citizens of Bahawalpur joined hands and took the initiative in January 2004, by the name of PEHEL Organization. It is a welfare and progressive organization which works through self-help to participate in community development by promoting healthy approaches in the society. . 

On 27th January 2005 it was registered under Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance 1961. We are continuously improving its performance so that cooperation between public and administrative departments can be achieved. PEHEL Organization is progressively achieving the objectives on which it was founded.

LIVE STOCK TRAINING
 In rural area advance techniques are required so farmers can yield more profit from their livestock. Although a basic livestock centre has been built, we aim to provide modern training facilities.

Pehel Organization has keen eye on embarrassing situation of Human Rights. Last year we successfully fought for the rights of acid attack victims. We need volunteers and resources to reach out to victims and get them help.

DISPENSARY

Basic health facilities for rural areas are urgently needed. P.O. needs help to better equip its free for all dispensary and have the vision to establish a maternity centre and family planing clinic.

Disabled people are the most deprived in our society. To elevate them into main stream of society it is necessary to empower them by skill training. P.O. has the vision to establish a vocational training centre for disabled, we aim to help them getting a job after training.

P.O. feels the need to protect the wildlife of Cholistan desert. Equipped with the knowledge about local wildlife, surveys and root maps we have put out some recommendations and marked some areas where wildlife protection policies should be put in place urgently.
